November 2015 IT Marketing Action Items

Posted on Nov 04, 2015 · No Comments

Thanks for the positive feedback from our October email, blog and video that contained a list of marketing action items for the month! If you find these tips useful, let us know and we'll make this a regular monthly thing to help keep your marketing efforts on track.

Here are our 3 marketing recommendations for November 2015:

1. Start talking about 2016 IT budgets.

As we approach the end of 2015, many organizations evaluate their IT budgets. This is a good time to talk about planning for 2016. Our article on tips for budgeting will give readers a list of things to consider. This will tie into a future article we are working on about 2016 IT trends to watch, which will come out in January.

NOTE: you should call up anyone who clicks on this article. Offer help when you call by saying:

"Hi <name>, as the end of the year approaches, I just wanted to check in with you about planning for 2016. How's business?... What kind of growth do you see happening? Are you planning to add or change staff?..."

2. Tell people About Dridex Malware.

Security-related emails get people's attention. Here's something to share: hackers stole more than $40 million from U.S. and U.K. victims using a new strain of Dridex. Tell them how to protect themselves from this malware. We also have other articles ready in our security section to help explain why they need a business-grade firewall and clarify misconceptions they may have about data breaches.

Presstacular clients: Select Security & Privacy

3. Register for holiday networking events.

Ask your current clients which associations they belong to. Chances are, companies just like them belong to the same ones. It's time to put on your marketing hat and have a tasty beverage with people that could be very qualified leads for you.

Networking may not be your thing, but if you don't get out and meet people, your business will grow at a slower pace. Most associations have holiday networking events in December. Register for a few -- don't forget to carry your business cards.

Remember to look at your email marketing reports so you know when it's time to follow up with a prospect you've been nurturing.
